Big huge thanks to everyone who came to my chat on Sunday!!! It was a great crowd and it was was fun! It was a little weird to be hosting in a chat room that wasn't RAKScraps! LOL!

So if you didn't make it... I made a few annoucements at the chat. I'm having another contest - help me fill my gallery at SBB. You can use any of my kits from SBB and post a LO by Aug 5 and I'll pick a random winner for a prize!

And.... I'm having my first SALE at SBB! All my kits are 30% off though Aug. 10!

You can learn how to make your own corkboard at her digi craft chat at 10 pm Eastern Tuesday, Aug. 1! Find all the details at RAKScraps! And.... If you like the pencil cup, you can get the template at Scrapdish. :)

Greetings from AmyK!

My dear friend AmyK sent me these postcards from her trip across Idaho, Montana and Wyoming! How cool. I've never been out west so I'm always amazed to see those mountains!
I love that card up at the top. It reminds me of mad libs! Under that is the North Idaho College Campus in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, where her husband went to school for a bit. That is some lake!
And then finally, the Bitterroot River and Mountains in Montana, which is where Amy grew up! I can't imagine living there. It is so beautiful!!! Thank so much Amy for thinking of me!!!!

Scrapping and a good cause...

Some of you may know MandaBean - who is on my list of favorite designers - from Sweet Shoppe Designs. She recently found out her mother has cancer, and a bunch of designers got together to create a kit to help her family. It's going to be up soon, and tomorrow - Saturday, July 29 - there's going to be a chat at DST at 11 pm Eastern. There's going to be lots of fun and prizes. I wish I could be there but I need to work. But here's a little preview of the kit...
I've been waiting forever for a clear day so that I can do this page for the Chicks Life. The topic was national treasures - and I'm lucky to live right across from a great big one...
(Kim Christensen's Longboard papers and elements and White Water alphas, all from the RAD collection at SBB. You need this!!!!)

And - I hope Melinda doesn't mind - but I just LOVE this page! She used my Chase papers and elements and it is just so cool!!!!! I had to show this one off! :)

Some pages and a challenge...

You know those tags we're always posting on our blogs... Well I saw that Simple Scrapbooks Scrapbook Shortcuts with Quizzes and Questions had this same tag that I answered here on my blog. So I thought it would be fun to turn it into a LO!
(Used my Chase Papers and Elements at SBB for this one!)

And I made it the challenge for the Night Owls this week. It's not to late to join in and here's a little prize I made for everyone who joins in...

So I did a little more scrapping yesterday! I haven't scrapped since Melissa G's crop. So here's a page from my trip to the zoo with the Staleys.
(Wild Child by Jeanine, Correen, Rachel and me at Scrapdish)

Oh, and I got a delivery from Idea Books 4 You. It shipped so super fast. If you are going to order scrapping books, I highly recommend them! Oh, what did I get??? Elsie Flannigan's 52 Scrapbooking Challenges and Ali Edwards' 2nd books. Can't wait to start reading.

I'm going back to bed for awhile. I am up early (for me) because I had to move the car. I wish I had a driveway!!!!

Getting chatty!

I'm hosting my Night Owls chat in the early morning/late night! I really miss the girls since I've only been able to host a chat once a month this summer. I'm going to try to do more in the upcoming months. The fun starts at 12:30 am (7.24) Eastern/ 9:30 pm Pacific (7.23) at RAKScraps. Everyone who comes will get a super cool freebie brought to you by our CT member Kim! I just got Simple Scrapbooks Scrapbook Shortcuts, Quizes and Questions, so I think I'll dig a challenge out of that. It's got tons of fun ideas.

And be sure to mark your calendars! Next Sunday, July 30 at 9:30 pm E/6:30 pm P, I'm going to be hosting my Designer Launch Crop at SBB! I'm super nervous so I hope you'll come and support me! I'll have a freebie for everyone that's an add-on to a new kit I'm working on!

Greetings from the Canadian Rockies!

Wow my pile of postcards to scan is piling up thanks to all my scrapping friends!
This one is from Rachel, who went on holiday at a little lakeside retreat in the Candadian Rockies! She says it was beautiful and peaceful, even if they stayed in an igloo! :) You can check out more of their adventures in Rachel's gallery. And the trip also inspired Rachel's Lakeside papers and elements at Scrapdish. Check them out! Very cool for your vacation LOs!

I should be getting even more postcards soon, too. Mom and grandma left this morning for HAWAII! Sooooooo super jealous, but at least I'll have the house to myself.

Greetings from Ireland

Just got this postcard from Chele at DST! She reports that Ireland is beautiful and the colors are intesnse, "not just the greens," which you can see from this postcard from Gallway! :) So cool of her to send one to me!

Thanks Karen!!!!

Karen (hom74) has been bugging me for ages now to create elements to go with my Summer Style papers - and when I finally got them done, I had to send them to her to play with! :) Check out these gorgeous pages she did with my kit! ....

(You can see the full credits if you visit the gallery links. And you can see more of Karen's LOs here. Seriously.)

Since I started digiscrapping two years ago there two things that really make me happy. The first is seeing the reaction from family & friends when I've given them scrapbooks. And second is seeing pages using my kits! It's really amazing to see how people use my designs and the amazing stories they tell! So if you do use one of my kits or freebies, please send me a link! (heehee that sounds so sappy!)

Here's a $2 coupon to my store, good for any of my kits at SBB. Use the code: superfriends07
It's good through 7.21.06

So much to do, so much to say

Oh man, I feel like I have so much to get done and catch up on! I have had such a great weekend.

First of all, I've gotta tell you to check out the July RAK File! Our RAKScraps newsletter was released this weekend and it ROCKS! You'll find lots of cool layouts and some freebies!

And in other RAKScraps news, the July Mega Kit has now been released! You can find out about it here. This one will be GREAT for all your summer pages!
And here's the Add On that the admins created this month. I'm really happy with this one! I actually drew some stuff for this kit and I really like the stitched flower I created too. You can get it at Scrapdish!

So now more about my weekend. Randi and I drove up to the Palisades Center to see Superman in IMax 3D. (For those of you not around here, Palisades Center is the one of the biggest malls in the U.S. It amazes me how the parking lot is overflowing but it never feels crowed in there. It is just so massive). The 3D was a little cheesy, but the movie was awesome! I think Brandon Routh was a pretty hot superman and Kevin Spacey was incredibly evil as Lex. (Which reminds me I have a new list about superheroes at 10 things.) There were parts where I wanted to scream, other parts where I wanted to cry. And lots of laughs and great action too. Ranks up there as one of my favorite superhero movies!

Yesterday I got to hang out with Melissa G at a crop! It was so much fun and I got to see what paper scrapper do when they get together. I can't believe how much stuff they bring! The whole room looked like a craft store. It was so cool. I'm always fascinated by all this stuff at the craft store and I got to see some of it put to use. And they were also curious to see what I was doing over on my laptop. I only got three pages done though! The laptop was acting up on me. Then I couldn't decide on fonts. And of course there was lots of chit chatting. I got to meet Melissa's adorable daughter Gracie, and Krista and her hubbie also stopped by to say hi. And I got to meet another digiscrapper, Chrissy (thescrapgirl), who I found out is practically my neighbor and teaches classes at the local AC Moore. I also won some cute 8x8 albums in the raffle too. Only bad thing was I had to leave early for work. But here are the pages I got done...
My niece loves to come over and play with her castle. (I hate that thing! LOL!) And she's obsessed with princesses. And the things she has those princesses doing - well seems she's been watching too much of All My Children (which her mom and aunts love). The list of princesses is how she says them, which I think it so cute. (Jen Wilson's Princess Dress Up kit)
Here's Kylie and my aunt. Kylie really seems to like her. She babbles and squels a lot around her and it sounds like she's telling stories. (Jen Wilson's Urban Bohemia Kit)

And here are some photos from my Party Lite shindig. (Carrie Stephens' Global kit)

I went to another Party Lite party today at my mom's friend Marie's House. And the best part about that was the pool! So I'm a little more sunburned today, but we had a really great time hanging out on the deck. I'm usually over at Marie's when Randi's house-sitting. So this was the first time I hung out there while Marie was actually home! And I spent even more on candle stuff, including getting a Christmas gift out of the way.

I got home in time to stop by Kim Christensen's CD launch chat. You've gotta check out her new RAD collection! It is super cool. I can't wait to get it!

Well I'm going to try to get some work done now! Thanks for reading all of this. Hope you all had a great weekend too!

My Eggcellent Adventure!!!

Here I am again in NYC with one of my favorite scrapping friends, the fabulous GinaEgg! :) She was in the city for a conference and had a few hours before leaving to hang out with some friends. Gina is just a riot (and so is her friend Mark) just like she is on the boards! A real sweetheart too! Love her! Need to scrap this one.

Before I left (and I was almost late because of this...) I finished up this week's Chick Life page. The theme was "As American As..." so I wrote about the Simpsons. I am a huge Simpsons nerd. :) And well also because I found this giant Homer sitting in my living room the other day!

Used our June RAKScraps Add on from Scrapdish for this LO and stitching by Sandra Boddington at Sweet Shoppe.

And here's a page I did yesterday of my favorite shoes using my Summer Style papers and elmenents from SBB.

Someone had posted at DST yesterday about all about me pages and how they don't like photos of themselves. I don't really either, but here are two "me" pages that don't have me in them. You can scrap all of your favorite things and still create pages that give a sense of who you are!

CRAZY!!!

We actually had a tornado touch down here! Isn't that nuts! It happened up where I work about an hour before I got there. There was some crazy thunder while I was still at home too. Made sure to shut down the computer before I left!!!

So here's what I was busy working on...

Made some NEW alphas to go with my Seriously Elements, which I moved over to SBB today.

And I made a little banner for the store too. What do you think?

And then I squeezed in a LO. Here's me and Melinda at the zoo. I used the Day at the Spa kit from Scrapbook Graphics.

Seriously random

I have been loving my iTunes as I've been creating. I almost always listen on shuffle so here's what I've just heard since I've sat down...

Neil Young - Sugar Mountain
Miss Saigon - Now that I've seen her
Frank Sinatra - Moon River
Gomez - Tear Your Love Apart
Ryan Adams - Desire
AC/DC - Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
The Vines - 1969
Nena - 99 Red Balloons

Crazy!

Greetings from Melinda!

Melinda and her family got to see this replica of the Santa Maria in Columbus and also spent time visiting Virginia, and they were so nice to bring me these postcards!!! You can read more about the adventures of the Staley family on Melinda's blog!!!

New at Scrapbookbytes!

It is so cool to be able to write that LOL! :) I have been designing like crazy - creating new previews and a bunch of new elements, too! And I have some new stuff up at Scrapbookbytes! :) You can check out my store here.

I just added these Summer Style Elements to match my Summer Style Papers, which I have moved to SBB. (Karen, are you happy now?!!!!)

And I finally made some alphas to match my Naturally Shabby papers and elements! The alphas are now part of the element set, but are also sold separately incase you grabbed the elements at Scrapdish. :)

A little thank you!

I have a million things to get done, but the first thing I wanted to do was say thank you to all my friends who have been so supportive! :) I made this little paper pack for you! (I knew I loved these colors but couldn't think of why - but then I realized they sort of matched our Beachy Keen kit, so I gave them a beachy name too.)

You can download these papers here. Please don't redistribute this kit! Thanks!!!

No longer available. Sorry!

Sunday, July 09, 2006

What a great Sunday! I started the day out downloading some stuff on iTunes that I've been meaning to download - Johnny Cash American V, Bruce Springsteen's We Shall Overcome and the new Gomez album, which Amy K and Krista have been raving about.

Randi's keeping an eye on the pets for my mom's friend this weekend so we were over there in the POOL! Oh man, there's nothing like swimming, or rather floating around. It's just so calming and relaxing.

Then I came home and found my lucky streak is still on! Earlier this week I was lucky won a GC to Fishscraps in Carrie Stephens awesome contest. Well, yesterday I saw Meredith Fenwick had a contest on her blog, and since I am a stalker and just love her, I knew a bunch of answers and did a little digging for the rest. So I didn't win - but Meredith still sent me a coupon for her new cd! That's practically a prize! Check out her new Personality collection on her blog and you'll see what I mean! (She's also having a chat tonight at SBB!)

Oh yeah, and there's that other BIG news! LOL! I was thinking I'd wait to say anything, but Amy Edwards already outed me! :) I'm going to be selling my kits at Scrapbook-Bytes!!!! Thanks to all my friends who have been so supportive and encouraging! :) I'm really excited and I have so much stuff in the works that I'm going to need to get finished.

Well I gotta finish up a layout and some laundry. Then I'm going to see Pirates! Can't wait!

My day with the Staleys

Can I just say I want the Staley family to adopt me!!! :) I loved hanging out with them at the Bronx Zoo today!

Here's me and Melinda!

Now, all you RAKScrapers already know how great Melinda is... but the rest of her family is so great too! The kids are so cute and super smart. They all had lots of stories to tell me. Brenna kept trying to "get me," which was fun because I play that with T all the time. And the girls wanted to walk with me or hold my hand, which was just so sweet! Even Bryce had lots to tell me about the animals and his games. They all told me how their mom likes to take lots of photos LOL! And baby Sarah is just a little honey - and she kept looking at me like "who is this crazy person"? Hee!
Here's the whole family... Mark, Sarah, Brenna, Carissa, Bryce, Melinda and Beth. (They were also impressed that I could name them all when I met them!)
The kids posed on a lizard at the Reptile House.

It was a lazy day for the animals at the zoo - the lions, tigers, wild dogs, everything we went by pretty much all sleeping and lolling about. It was a really nice day out at least. But we did see a lot of cool and awake birds, reptiles and monkeys in the indoor sections...
This guy's a cuban amazon parrot!

And here's a camel - I guess they had to wake them up for the camel ride!

And well I really wanted to see these wild dogs - so I could compare them to Rocky, but they were LAZY. So I guess they were like the Rock Star. Took a photo of the billboard instead! :)

But the best part was hanging out with all of them. I really did feel like I knew the whole family just from Melinda's layout! :) And I hope we can do it again!

some pages

Here are my newest LOs...

I have had these photos of T for awhile and couldn't find the right kit. Not exactly pink outfit but so super cute. And I just LOVE Correen's Flowers for Jeanine kit too! If you know Jeanine, you'll know why this kit is so perfect. :) It's so like her! And I say this all the time, but Correen's style is so perfect for Taylor's personality.

This week's chick life challenge was about freedom. And as someone who likes to talk and blahgher on, I find this to be one of our most precious freedoms!
I also was kind of inspired by Jasper John's flag and Robert Rauschenberg. Used lots of stuff too, which is really unusual for me too!

We need some good weather!

It's been pretty yuck here all week. Rainy and humid and hot. Typical NJ summer blah! I have BIG plans for tomorrow though so I need it to be nice and sunny! I'll tell you all about my plans tomorrow. :)

Good movie

So last night instead of screensucking (hee!), I watched Transamerica. Really incredible movie. Felicity Huffman is unbelievable as a transgendered man, just finding out he/she has a son, and then they travel together across America.

Well to make up for it though I spent the morning plopped in front of the computer. I burned two DVDs worth of kits and photos and layouts from June through now. (YIKES!) And I did this page about Rocky. He's going to be staying with us while his parents are away!

I did something rare here too - use more than 1 kit! LOL!
Credits: Jackie Eckles' New Dog Kit and Katie Pertiet's Oversprayed Alphas from Designer Digitals; black alphas by Jessica Bolton from Eclectic Scraps; brad by Laura Apulche from Backyard BBQ kit at Digi Chick; Tag from Summer Shack and burlap strip by Gina Cabrera.

And I finally remembered to put up a newTen Things list. Check it out and leave your top 10 too! And if anyone has any ideas for new lists let me know!!!!

Tuesday, July 04, 2006

Hee!

Again, buzzword has found a word to capture my life!

B U Z Z W O R D O F T H E D A Y

screensucking: Wasting time sitting in front any
screen - computer, video game, TV. "He missed
his deadline because he spent the afternoon
screensucking."

Thanks Bianca!

Thank you for pointing out that glitch in Scrapdish sale. You're the only person to point that out to me! I fixed the prize of the Flair papers and put them on sale for another week. I don't have your email Bianca so I just wanted to thank you here. Please send me an email too!

BORED!!!!!

I am so bored! I have to work tonight so I'm not enjoying the holiday today. Pretty much have spent today finishing up my July Mega Kit, and I was watching the soaps until they interupted for the shuttle launch. Hate when that happens (I cannot watch shuttle launches! They scare me! Fourth-grade trauma!) but I just dicovered last night that cable added Soap Net to the line up and I can catch the rest of One Life to Live later! Yes, that's the most exciting thing in my life right now.

I saw the Devil Wear Prada this weekend. Meryl Streep is just fantastic. But read the book! It is so funny and they really changed it so much. They made Miranda much more human and took focus off Andi - but it was still enjoyable. And I just love Adrian Grenier, too. I had to google his real name because I usually just think of him as Vincent Chase. Even when I saw the trailer for the movie, I whispered to Randi "Ooooohhh it's Vincent Chase!"

Oh and I did this LO today too. I love doing these recaps for the Chick's Life workshop, and think I'll have to keep it up.

Reason #597 why I love Carrie Stephens and other tales of a shopaholic

Seriously, I never need a reason to buy a Carrie Stephens kit because I love them all, but how could I resist one call Rockin Robin! This one and some of her other fab creations were in my cart this weekend when the newly revamped Scrapbook Graphics launched this weekend. I also got a sweet note from Sara Carling thanking me for my purchase - that's awesome customer service. Even though they had some trouble with the opening, the Studio Girls handled it with style!

Want to see what else I got this weekend???? :)
These super cute fuzzy alphas and some other elements by Kim Christensen at SBB. I am really hooked on element sets lately.

Check out what the gals at Sweet Shoppe put together for MandaBean's wedding. That is just so super sweet! I also just love the new Expecting Collection from Robin Carlton and Christy Lyle. And they have a new sampler collection up too - you get a whole bunch of super cute mini kits at a really cheap price!

I just love these alphas by Misty Mareda at Plain Digital Wrapper, which also had its big launch this weekend.
Then there's the awesome Guardian Pea charity kit. I think it's so amazing what these gals are doing for other scrappers! They put together some fab kits and not just this one. You can check out all the kits and the schedule of chats they are putting together for this weekend at the site.
There are going to be prizes from Scrapdish and RAKScraps too!

And that's not even the start. Only the people at Paypal will ever know how much I ever spend!!!! It's insane! But with all the sales and new stuff coming out I couldn't help it!!!!

Happy Birthday to Correen!!!!!

Today is my good friend Correen's birthday! Hope it's a great one! And I love her not just because she keeps things cracking at RAKScraps or because she puts together the BEST newsletter out there every month, but because she cracks me up and is such a great friend! And she's also one of my absolute FAVORITE designers! Check out her store at SBB this weekend - she's having a big old sale!

(Credits: DigiScrapz Birthdayz kit by Jen Reed, Krista Mettler and Melissa Goerke, stitching by Shabby Princess, flower brush by Tracy Ann Robinson)
Here are the layouts I did using Dani B's Digital Grafiti, which you can get at SBB!
Here's Taylor and Danielle showing us the right way to decorate Easter Cookies. It was pretty easy to create cool backgrounds with the texture and swirl overlays on the CD. And I though the paint splash looked a bit like the icing!
Here's another picture from Easter of my cousins and sis

And here's the version with me in it. :)

Seriously, this is a fun CD! There are so many swirls and doodles in png and brush form. And there's a whole bonus pack of great stuff like clips, fibers, tape and notebook papers. Lots of great stuff to play with!
