Grandma's gift

I got this cool little 4X4 Album to put my mini book in from All My Memories. Much easier than trying to put it all together as an accordian album!

And I also made this little card too.

Scrap happy

I got three pages done today while I was waiting at my brother's house! :) But I can't show them all off yet, but I can show you what I was got to use.

Here's one of the other pages I did today...

I used Tracy Blankenship's fantabulous Creative Expression kit from Digital Freebies. Love ya Tracy!!!!

My crazy idea

I decide to give my blog a makeover. I should be asleep!!!! What do you think?
Did I leave anything off that used to be here? I need to be up super early tomorrow and I am crazy for still being up!

Greetings from Jeanine

Jeanine was such a sweetie and sent me these postcards from her cruise to the Caribbean! Sounds like they had a great time, even though it rained a bit! I would much rather be on a cruise than heading to work today!

Not Harry!

JK better not do this to Harry!!!

A bit of a rut, some chats and the new house

I am so uninspired lately! I'm tired of staring at the screen and trying to work on a kit. Bleech! I can't come up with any ideas or elements or anything!

I felt like scrapping with some of the new stuff I got this weekend, but even my photos werent' calling out to me. So I joined in Audra's Photo Inspiration Challenge at RAKScraps and did the LO for Stacey.
And I got to use Jessica Bolton's fab new kit, Epiphany. No preview - go check it out and buy it! :) I just love Jessica's style.

I want to get out of this rut FAST! Dani B. just sent me some of her new goodies from her new CD to play with. :) She's having a CD launch party at SBB Friday at 10 pm Eastern.

So you'll need to have two browers going so you can also be at the RAKScraps Gallery Opening Mixer at 9:30 pm Eastern/6:30 pm Pacific. We have great sponsors lined up for July - Jeannie Papai, Theresa Hernandez and SaraAmarie. To win some prizes, you'll need to join in our Treasure Hunt.

It was great to be back at Night Owls on Sunday, even though most of the chatters took off early! Melinda even stopped by from vacation. She's been blogging from the road, too.

This weekend went pretty fast. Spent part of Sunday helping out at Mike's new house scraping glue of the walls and then painting. Then last night I got the much easier job of babysitting the girls. Taylor knows every trick to get out of going to bed. First she wanted me to watch a movie with her in her bed. Then she wanted to play with her minatures in bed. Then she needed some juice. Then she remembered to brush her teeth. Then she wanted more juice. Then she had to go potty. Then she wanted the light on. Then off. I thought she was out by the time Vesna got home, but nope, she was up. The house, btw, is pretty cool. It's got lots of space for them. The girls will even have a play room, and Mike will have room for his poker table in the basement. Still needs some work, but Mike is Mr. Home Improvement and it's coming along great so far.

Sleeping late

Wow I slept late today! I am just getting up and it's after 12:30! So much for helping at the new house. I was up working on grandma's album last night. And season 1 of Entourage arrived via Netflix last night so I watched four episodes. I'm downloading some kits I bought last night and still want to check out Tracy Ann Robinson's sale at SBB. I'm glad I didn't tell them to wait for me to start painting!!!!

It seems like a lot of people are away this weekend. But for those of you still here, we're having a posting challenge over at RAKScraps. The winner will receive a $15 GC from Peppermint Creative.

And here's a page I did the other day using the Digi Chick Team's Remember When Kit...

Some exciting stuff!

I am really excited about a crop coming up! It's an in-real-life event on Saturday, July 15, hosted by the very cool Melissa G! If you're in the NJ-NY area and would like to come and hang out with us, you can find out more at the Crop2Gether site! I won't be there the whole day because I have to work , but I'm planning to stop by for the morning!

And, I'm not going to say who, but two of my friends are planning to come to the area in the next few weeks! I'm really excited about getting to meet them! :)

Have you been to the Digi Shop Talk boards yet? There's lots of fun chatter going on, and you can post anything with links too! You can post about your new kits, a sale you heard about, blog freebies, etc. Lots of designers and scrappers are signing up!

Old school freebie

I was digging through my files and found this one!

I made this add on for a chat last summer. They coordinate with the For The Boys RAKScraps fundraiser kit at Scrapdish. You can download this mini kit here. Please don't redistribute this freebie. Thanks! :)

If the link expires, please let me know. I'll update it a few times. **UPDATED 6.29

Some more scraps and movies

I caught Nacho Libre last night. It's so goofy and Jack Black is a riot! I read a review that complained about all the "eyebrow" acting, blah, blah, blah, but that's what I think is so funny! The expressions and bad accents had me cracking up.
And I forgot to mention that I saw the Break Up, too. I really LOVE Vince Vaughn. I felt bad for both characters - going through all that fighting and misery. And the fighting over dumb things reminded me of Randi and Khoder, who I call the Bickersons. Not just a comedy as they make it out to be in the commercials. But still pretty good.

I just realized today that my P4D messages were being bounced! I didn't have time to read all weekend, and then there was NOTHING in my inbox! Soooo depressing! I hope I didn't miss any good sales! :)

I did a little more scrapping today...

So here's my favorite pup and all other spoiled rotten doggies in my family. They all belong to cousins, aunts, uncles.
I used the RAKScraps May Mega kit and Add On from Scrapdish for this page.

Here's my chick's life page for this week. This week's about vacations and I am not going anywhere special so I thought I'd scrap about my spa day. I used Michelle Coleman's CopaCabana kit. How could I not buy a kit named after my family! Hee! I love it!

Dad's Album

Here's a the album I did for my dad using Shabby Princess's Blue Skies and Mudd Pies piece of cake pages. (I was going to try to upload to the RAKScraps gallery but this file and the one below are too big.)

I used my Xyron machine on the cover pages and stuck it to the cover of this little 8x8 SEI Album...

You can see how much Kylie has changed in the last 6 months! :) Pretty amazing. Dad loved the book too.

Thought I'd check in...

I feel like I haven't been around too much. I've been working on some stuff. First I had to print out and assemble my dad's father's day gift. Then I had to tie up the last orders and place my own order from my PartyLite show. And now I'm doing a little slide show for my sister. I'm finally getting around to figuring out how Pro Show Gold Works, and I want to get this burned to a DVD so she can show it to her classes tomorrow. The middle school in town is only in its second year, and they do this team teaching thing so, not only is this Randi's first real class, but she's had these kids for 2 years. She's also the year book advisor so she has a ton of photos. We put them together with some sappy songs - Madonna's I'll Remember, Billy Joel's Time to Remember and Kenny Roger's Through the Years. Even I was getting a little teary watching it. LOL

This week is going to be crazy too. My brother's closing on their new home, so we'll have lots of painting, helping out and babysitting to do. And my grandmother's 75th birthday is this weekend and I need to get her album printed. One of these days I'll catch up with everything!

Here's grandma's book. I used one of Carrie Stephens' awesome little minibooks and then added my photos and a bunch of quotes about familly.

Rocky is 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My favorite doggie and my favorite nephew is three years old today! He's even having a birthday party but I can't make it because I have to work, but I'll be sure to spoil him rotten!

And since it's the 15th, that means Kylie is 6 months old today, too!
I worked on my albums today...

This week's chick life challenge was about dads so I did this page about my brother. I used the Boyzone Kit from Kim Christensen and Meredith Fenwick's His Collection at SBB for this LO. I don't do a lot of pages about Mike or my other guy friends/relatives. But when I post them I always get a dumb comment like someone saying "Your dh is so sweet." GROSS!!!! I HATE that! I always identify who the guy is in my comments so please read before you label someone.

And here's my first page for my Home is Where the Heart is album for Melinda's album project at RAKScraps. I'm going to be using Carrie Stephens' Home kit for these pages. You can find out more about the project here.

Kim Jensen has a super cool fun kit up at Scrapdish!!! You can check out the Playful Summer papers, alphas and elements

And I just wanted to share some cool layouts from our Scrapdish CT Team. :)
Meredith used my Flair kit for Bowl on Your Head and Bad Day.
Karen used my Monica kit for this page Father.
Alice used Seriously for Seriously in Love.
And Maria did this amazing page, Metamporphasis.

I spent most of the weekend away from the computer. :) Now that I'm sitting here again, I wish I could just turn it off, but there's too much work to do.

The candle party was a lot of fun. I had about 15 people there, and Raffy was a great host. He got a lot of orders too - so that means I get a lot of goodies since I was the host! I'm not sure what I'm going to order yet. The best thing though was that there was hardly any food left! I didn't go to crazy - just some veggies with ranch dip, cheese and crakers, mini quiches, quesedillas, cookies and cake, and Randi's famous spinach-artichoke dip. We also finished off a big old bottle of sangria, a bucket of margaritas, and two pots of coffee. I hate when I have food left over and spend the week eating junk.

The girls were over for the party, and of course a certain little red head wanted it to be all about her! She was spinning on her sit & spin telling everyone to look at her. Then she had the whole room sitting down and getting buckled up for her imaginary carraige ride. She's creative - but sooooooo bossy! :)

Then Monday I went to the spa. It was my bday gift from Randi. And if you have never been, tell your dh or kids to get you a spa day for your next special occassion. It was really incredible. Spent the day getting a facial, massage, manicure, pedicure, drinking tea. Very nice and relaxing. Of course the only bad part about that is it ending and having to get back to reality. But it was a nice reminder that I should take it a bit easier.

I'll post some party photos later. Hope you all had a great weekend!

Lucky me!!!!

So I snuck in the chat at SBB for Meredith Fenwick's Urban Colour Summer Collection and I won a prize!!!! I used my prize toward the whole collection! Can't wait to use it. Meredith is just one of my favorite designers and such a sweetie too. A few weeks ago I won a prize at a Scrap Artist chat (got Michelle's cool Cloie's Closet) and then I won a contest on Ange Dawn's blog too and won her 9 1/2 page kit! I have been on a bit of a roll lately!

Italy

This week's chick life challenge was to scrap about the place you've been farthest from your home. So for me that would be Italy. I haven't looked at these photos for a while. And I am sad to say I have them in a magnetic album and I'm going to have to redo the whole thing. (I did this before I was a scrapper and knew about these things!) And they are also my skinny pictures - I looked pretty good then!
So I just love this kit Super Cool by Michelle Underwood, and I really wanted to try something different and follow some advice from Ali Edwards to "just play." So I used crazy colors, and brushes by Meredith Fenwick. And here's what I came up with. :)

Scraps-n-More Kick Off Party

Scraps-N-More is having a party this weekend! There are a lot of challenges, prizes and a chat too. Here's some of the details.

Date: June 9-11
Time: Starting 4:00PM EST on Friday
Ending: Sunday June 11th @ 11:59pm EST
Join us Sunday night 10:00pm as we close our party with a Celebrity Chat Online. Allison Kreft from Hambly Screenprints will be joining us and sharing with us her inspiration for starting her company.
Allison has provided materials for our DT to work with throughout the month of June and also some awesome prizes for our crop party. Join us for a weekend of fun.

Prizes to be posted no later then 8:00PM EST on Monday June 12.

I just love this kid! :) She is always smiley, even now when she's teething!
I used Rachel's Nicky and Tyler kits from Scrapdish for this LO.

So this weekend I'm hosting a PartyLite Candle party with my friend Raffy. I still need to get the house into decent shape and decide what to make. I don't think too many people are coming, but that's ok. Raffy is super cool, so he'll make it fun. I wonder if he'll do a party at the Night Owls Chat! LOL!

Got some pages done...

After my dry spell last week, I'm on a roll...

I finally took some photos of Rocky in his new house. Credits: Michelle Coleman's Guy Thing Graphics Brushes 2

Here's Taylor and Danielle playing together at Easter. They are just so sweet together and walk around holding hands. I used Dani B's Sprout kit from SBB for this one.

And I put together this album for dad for Father's Day using Shabby Princess's Mud Pies and Blue Skies quickie album. So easy and it makes it look like I did a lot of work! :)

Beatles threapy

I grabbed the first Beatles CD I could find on my way home from work. It happened to be 1. And sang at the top of my lungs all the way home. Played Get Back twice. And if felt so good. Don't know what it is about the Beatles, but they always make me feel better. For a crazy obsessed fan, why didn't I think of this last week when I was sitting around miserable.

Well I worked on some stuff today, which also made me feel better. First I got my May recap page done...

Credits: Jen Wilson's Soho Sass - one on my birthday spree purchases. :) Photos are from my little trip to NYC last week.

And I was trying to remember George's line in Yellow Submarine. "It's all in the mind." I used Meredith Fenwick's super cool Paint Brushes for this. I'm not going to put it up in the galleries because this one is just for me. I had so much fun just mucking it up.

On demand

So my new addiction is On Demand - mostly HBO on demand. Totally making up for the lack of new Grey's Episodes. I watched all of season 2 of Entourage on my last days off and it is riot. Why haven't I watched it before. Season 3 is starting on Sunday, so I'm caught up on time.

And Office fans, have you heard there are going to be webisodes online starting July 13? Can't wait.

Get back

Get Back is one of my favorite Beatles songs. I just love the rock and rollicking sound to it, the silly lyrics, the images of the Beatles playing it up on the rooftop. And one of the reasons that song is so awesome is because of the keyboard playing of Billy Preston, who died today. Gotta listen to that on my way home tonight. Why isn't Let it Be on DVD yet????

Where the blog have I been?

I was planning to do a lot more blogging this week, but I haven't been spending much time on the computer. I have done ZERO scrapping all week! I did work on one kit, but other than that it's just been CD burning and emails.

So I spent my last day as a 29 year old in New York City. I felt so crazy and New York makes me feel sane. All the tourists running around, the noise, the traffic. It's easy to forget your problems amid all that. So I went to the MoMA - and I haven't been there in so long. I just love it there. Start at the top with Picasso, Cezanne, Van Gough, Dali, Monet and then head down to Warhol, Johns. Pollack and Oldenburg. I love this stuff. Then to the design - every thing from Macs to Frank Lloyd Wright - and photography. And then the sculpture garden. It was a perfect day. Not at all muggy and it was so nice to sit outside and have an iced coffee. I picked up some posters for Randi's new apartment. Then I took a cab uptown to see An Inconvenient Truth. It's Al Gore the Movie, and he explains all about global warming and what can be done about it in a way that makes sense.
After getting back, I stopped by Randi's and we had a nonbirthday icecream cake from Maggie Moo's which was pretty awesome. Cake batter ice cream. Sooooooo good.

BTW, Xmen kicked ass. I won't give any of it away, but if you go see it - stay until the end of the credits. I just love Hugh Jackman. And it was pretty cool to see Kelsey Grammer in blue.

Wednesday I did not want to get out of bed. I finally did because I knew the gals at RAKScraps would have something up their sleeves... and they did make me feel so much better. They are all just so great! :) I even got a few nice surprises in the mail and email too. I decided to do a little shopping - so I went out to the mall and spent lots of money on some summer clothes. But then as I was heading home, I had this pain in my stomach. It was pretty bad, so I spent the rest of the night on the couch watching the National Spelling Bee. A pretty pathetic night if you ask me!

Friday my friends convinced me to go out. So we had a great dinner at South City Grille in Jersey City. The food was amazing, drinks pretty weak. Hot manager there too. We should have made up a problem to get him to come back to the table. :) I should have gone home after, because my tolerance is not what it used to be. Hung out with Joanine and after a few drinks I was a mess.

Well Saturday was pretty cool because I went to this Memories Expo with mom and we met up with Krista and Jeanine! :) Mom got to see that internet friends are not imaginary! I could have spent a lot of money, but just bought this album from SEI that is just perfect for an album of quick pages. They have them in all sizes and would be great for mini albums and other digi projects.

Taylor and Kylie stayed over last night. I stayed in because I'm still not feeling so great, so I played princesses with T and got locked in the dungeon several times. Today I just bummed around. Just saw the Sopranos finale - and I swear that was the most touchy-feely episode yet! LOL! I can just imagine some of my guy friends kicking the TV.

I also managed to finish a bunch of books this week. There was Million Little Pieces, Jennifer Weiner's Little Earthquakes, The True and Outstanding Adventures of the Hunt Sisters by Elisabeth Robinson - so amazing and heartbreaking, especially if you have a sister - Undomesticated Godess by Sophie Kinsella (so funny!), Addicted to Solitare by Alison Carter, and a few magazines. Reading has been like crack this week.

So that's how I spent my summer vacation. I can't believe it's over. Pretty exciting, huh?

A gift for you

I am really overwhelmed today. I can't believe all the emails from my friends, scrappers, relatives. The phone has been ringing all day, but I haven't answered it, and I'm slowly catching up to all the posts and emails. Thank you all for thinking of me and making today a lot better.

And as a thank you, I have this little freebie for you. There are 2 quick pages and a few extras to my Playa kit at Scrapdish that have been sitting around here. :) I hope you like them. You can download them here from you send it.
