Why not us Oprah!!!!

Randi and I finally sat down today and watched last week's episode of Oprah where she gave out her favorite things. It is one of our dreams in life to be in the audience for that show! I mean, sure, the people in the audience were Katrina volunteers and deserved to be spoiled and pampered by Ms. Winfrey. But for once, I just wish it was me!!!!

Hola

It took me forever, but I finally got my Hola kit done! It's available now at Scrapdish. Big thanks to Tania and Tracy for all of their encouragement!
You can see this LO at RAKScraps too.

Puppy Love

Vesna sent me this photo yesterday. It is just so cute how much Taylor loves Rocky. She kept saying "Rocky sit here by me" - "Rocky you like my purse" - "Rocky come play with me." At one point I think Rocky was hiding under the table, but for the most part he likes her too!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Thanks to Giving to Khoder Day! (That's what Khoder has renamed the day since it's his birthday.)
Hope everyone is stuffed on turkey and all the trimmings. I had a great time today. Taylor was dressed up like a little diva with pin-stripped black pants, pink t, black bolero sweater and cute little mary janes. Her daddy thought she was too young to be dressed like that - but she was just too adorable. We actually got some cute pics of her and Rocky too, which is usually impossible, but Taylor wanted Rocky to sit by her and play with her, and he sort of listened. As soon as she saw her little place setting on the table, she climbed into her booster seat and INSISTED I sit next to her. This was a good while before dinner. She told everyone where they could sit and waited for everyone to sit down so she could eat her rice, corn and brocolli. (No turkey for her! And the brocolli ended up on my plate - gross!) Khoder liked the scrapbook I gave him and the card I made with a turkey with his face on it. I did have some apple pie before I left for work, but I hope there's some chocolate cake left for me when I get home tonight.

I am not crazy enough to go shopping tomorrow, but I'm looking forward to all the awesome scrapbooking sales!
I even put most of my stuff at Scrapdish on sale for 50% off through 11/30.

I belong in Florence

How funny I got Florence - the place where Betty lived for so long, nagged me to visit, and absolutely loved when I did. At least I'd be there with Helen (saw this on her blog) and near Lisa in Rome (saw on her blog too!)

Florence.
You belong in Florence. You are very creative and
probably an art freak. In Florence you can
visit a lot of famous buildings!

I am Sawyer

Don't know if I'd want to be him, but at least he's my favorite!

Sawyer
You Are Sawyer. You're a realist, not an idealist.
Sarcasm, wit, and leers run rampant whenever
you are around. Whether it's making a racist
remark or shooting a polar bear, you're sure to
leave a lasting impression on those around you.
Add a cigarette and some beard stubble, and the
formula for redneck charm is complete.

Hey I just realized I've had my blog for a year! LOL!
Anyway, my sister let me have some of her photos from Costa Rica and I had to show them off! (Especially for Tania!) One of these decades, I'd like to make my sis a nice vacation album.

I thought that this was Linus. Didn't know about his brother.

Buzzwhack Words

I love the funny words on Buzzwhack because I'm a word person. And my sister and I tend to make up a lot of our own words. One of my favorites that I got from their mailing list was Targasm: That tingly sensation you get when you find something really, really good at Target

Doohickey fonts

This is my friend teaching his sister about serif and san serif fonts. It killed me!

No doohickeys.

Costa Rica

Randi and Khoder got back last night from Costa Rica. They stayed at a resort in the rainforest where they could see monkeys and toucans from their window. And the resort was right near an active volcano. They did all this crazy stuff - like cross these hanging bridges and glide through the jungle - and some cool stuff - like ride horses, and swim up to the tiki bar. The photos are amazing. These are just some of the post cards they brought home. They also brought me a beautiful beaded necklace, a wooden wine holder with a turltle painted on it and some hot sauce! I got to try some chocolates they brought home and they are amazing. Can't wait to try the coffee too. I am glad they are home! (And so is Rocky!)

Valley Forge

Didn't actually go there. I got these post cards when I was at the PC Crafts convention - in the hotel store in PA! But I needed to have something for my collection from my trip.

The VCR mystery

I have been freaking out because my VCR hasn't been taping shows - or just taping part of them. I have this set up where I have set the cable to pick the channel and then the VCR to record. And no I don't have Tivo because I would never leave the house.

Well this craziness really upset me last night after I missed the first 15 minutes of LOST! I was so mad - even though I could figure out what was going on. And the flashback parts were about Shannon, who I don't like anyway. But I also missed the Simpsons, Desperate Housewives and The Office this week.

We lost power about 2 weeks ago - and when I reset the VCR clock I had the wrong day! So my VCR was a day behind. Now it should be all better and I can be sure Everwood will be taped when I get home!

Scrapping fool!

I have finished 16 pages (including a card) done since Saturday! I do wish more of those were for my brother's wedding album. :) Thank goodness for RAK-a-bration!

Colorado Springs

One of the coolest things about digital scrapbooking is meeting so many people - especially from places I have never been! Like Colorado.

This postcard is from my RAK'in friend Melinda! She was so sweet to send me this postcard of the amazing view where she lives - along with 2 scrapping mags that I couldn't find anywhere here yet! (Scrapbook Answers looks really cool BTW, and it comes wiht CDs filled with goodies!)

Joe met Rachael Ray

My friend Joe is a big fan of Rachael Ray and he got to meet her last week. :) (She's on the Food Network, in case you're clueless like I am). You can can read about his adventure here.

So long Geoff...

My friend and co-worker left the paper on Friday. I'm still so sad that he's left, but I'm really happy for him. We've worked at two newspapers together, shared a few beers and hung out at concerts together. We had his going-away party at work last week and another former co-worker hired this gorilla to come and sing "You are my sunshine." One of the strangest things I've seen in this crazy newsroom.

RAKScraps Anniversary

I can't believe it's finally here! I've been planning RAK-a-bration for ages with the help of all the awesome RAKScraps admins, CTs and mods! We're going to have such a blast too. We've got chats challenges, freebies, contests and a ton of prizes to give away.

And for the occasion, Jeanine, Rachel, Correen and I worked together on this Anniversary Kit, which you can get at Scrapdish.

About a year ago I was sitting at my computer when I heard that little chime telling me I had a new message. It was the annoucement that RAKScraps had officially opened. I signed up right away - I'm member number 16. And I've been there pretty much every day since. I've have learned a ton, met so many awesome people and get to work with the most amazing, talented people! Awww, I hate getting sappy.

Hope to see you at RAKScraps this week! Fun starts with the Gallery Opening Mixer at 10 p.m. eastern Nov. 4. I'll be working so have fun for me!

New Cafepress stuff

I finally upgraded my Cafepress store. I added some new RAKScraps T-shirts (like the ones Jeanine, Correen and I had the convention). I also created some shirts and bumper stickers to help with the Save Douglass College campaign.

You can see my stuff here at RMCdesigns.
